If you're unsure about going all out with purple, start small: Pick a shade of purple that you like and paint just one wall, or keep your color pop to bed linens and accessories. With a neutral backdrop, simply adding a comforter, pillows and window treatments in purple can turn your room into a purple paradise. Eventually, you may find your taste for purple leading you to bring more of it into your personal space.
To make this home feel more relaxed and inviting, designer Blanche Garcia used soft colors, lightly-textured fabrics and a smart mix of delicate patterns. The beautiful result is a soothing transitional home with classic details and an overall feeling of comfort.

In order to address this issue, furniture was arranged in a circular seating group which served as a distraction from the fireplace placement and made the room feel balanced. In addition, this arrangement took advantage of the predominately square shape of the room and encouraged conversation, whether enjoying the fireplace or the view through the window.
